Christ (Deemed-to-Be University) was established in 1969. It is a deemed university with its main campus in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Christ University has 6 campuses in Bangalore, Delhi NCR, and Pune. It is a UGC-recognized and NAAC-affiliated college. The university has over 800 faculty members and enrolls over 25,000 students each year. It offers UG, PG, and Research/Ph.D. programs at each of its campuses. Christ Campus provides a culture and well-equipped infrastructure to promote academic and cultural activities for the holistic development of the students. Christ campuses have research facilities, libraries, and information centers. IT services are available to provide WiFi to the students around the campus, research laboratories for each department in each campus of Christ, the main auditorium with a large seating capacity and state-of-the-art facilities, mini auditorium, amphitheater, open-air theater and GALLERY, six academic peer-reviewed journals, and CHRISTITE journals. Each campus has separate hostel facilities for male and female students. The campuses have several cafeterias which are available for day scholars and hostels. An NCC cadet program run by Christ is open to both male and female students. Several sports facilities such as football, basketball, volleyball, tennis, cricket and fitness centers are available in each Christ Complex.
Internship at Christ University
Christ University provides opportunities for the holistic development of its students and hence an internship experience is mandatory during the tenure of the courses to provide practical experience to the students in the real world. It must be at least 30 days and a mentor is allotted to guide the students through the process. The university does not provide internship opportunities directly, but the placement representatives selected from each batch reach out to various companies to get internships for the students. Students are given the opportunity to apply for internship opportunities to various off-campus companies of their choice or to sit in the opportunities provided by the campus. The process of selection for an internship involves going through the process of application submission and interview to get place in companies. Students are given orientation for proper conduct at the workplace. Students are required to work under a coach in the organisation. They are then expected to submit a report and make a presentation to demonstrate the knowledge and skills acquired during the internship. Students are given internship opportunities to work in different fields and sectors.
On-Campus Internship at Christ University
Christ provides in-campus internship opportunities to students. The CAPS (Academic and Vocational Support Center) provides academic and professional support to the members of the University. It conducts summer internship programs for Christ students in various fields such as content generators, operations, event planners, screenwriters, graphic designers, user interface designers, photographers, cinematographers and video editors. CAPS conducts internship programs for more than four weeks. After successful completion of the program, students are awarded an internship certificate. The selection process of the program is through the submission of an application form along with the choice of field of interest. Candidates are asked to submit their CV. After careful scrutiny of the questions and answers given by the candidates, the faculty members of CAPS conduct a face-to-face personal interview with the candidates. Selected students are informed through email and their offer letters are sent.
Placement Cell at Christ University
Christ (Deemed-to-Be University) campuses have a well-established placement cell that provides training and placement opportunities for the students. The selected placement representatives of each course, in association with the placement cell, conduct development and training programs to develop the students professionally. Final year students are given an opportunity to sit for placements with companies that come for recruitment. The placement cell provides opportunities and training to enhance the professional development of the students so that they can be better trained for employability through resume skills, group discussion, and interview skills. They also organize visits to companies and sectors for students to explore career opportunities for graduates and postgraduates. 85 recruiters visited the campuses during the 2022 recruitment drive held at Christ University. Companies visiting the campus for placement opportunities include Morph Labs, Techion, AB InBev, Salesforce, etc. with the highest CTC INR 20 LPA.
