HDFC Bank had last month announced that it has given over 4 lakh credit cards after the restrictions were lifted by the RBI. The new issuance is effective from September 21, 2021, and represents the bank’s robust post-sanctions growth strategy to manage its credit card array with excellent offerings and tie-ups. The bank also revealed the re-introduction of three cards last month. HDFC Bank’s Millennia, Money Back+ and Freedom cards have been redesigned to provide customers with enhanced features and benefits.
After the launch of the above offerings, HDFC Bank has piqued the curiosity of its customers by allowing them to transact online using credit or debit cards. Steps to Enable Online Transactions on your HDFC Bank Credit Card through Net Banking
By enabling online transactions on your HDFC credit card, you will be able to avail a variety of services such as managing online transactions on the go, international payments, tap to pay, a seamless online shopping experience, secure contactless payments , hassle-free transactions, managing multiple credit cards online, and much more. To enable online transactions on your HDFC Bank credit card through your net banking account, follow the steps listed below.
- Visit the Bank’s NetBanking portal and sign in to your account using the required credentials like Customer ID/ User ID and Password.
- Click the “Cards” tab at the top of the page.
- Now click on “Request” on the left side of the page.
- Now click on “Set Cards Control/Usage Limits” and select your credit card from the list.
- Now you can check your current daily domestic usage/limits and daily international usage/limits for all transactions.
- There is an option for online usage/international usage/contactless usage in both the categories.
- Now toggle the ‘ON’ switch for the selected functionality or all of the above. At the bottom of the page, click “Continue”
- Now click on “Continue” on the review page and you will now receive a One-Time Password (OTP) on your registered mobile number.
- Enter the OTP received in the required section and you are done.

Steps to enable online transactions on your HDFC Bank Credit Card via WhatsApp banking
- First of all, you need to save HDFC Bank official WhatsApp number +91 70659 70659 in your contacts on your mobile phone.
- Or you can go to https://api.whatsapp.com/send?phone=917065970659&text=Hi and click on “CONTINUE TO CHAT”.
- Now type “Manage My Credit Card” and send it to the above number.
- Now you will get a response and please choose one of the option to proceed further.
- Now you will get One Time Password (OTP) on your registered mobile number.
- Enter the OTP and verify the last 4 digits of your credit card number and proceed.
- Your current status will display as ‘Disabled’ for online/international/contactless transactions which you can enable on the same page.
Steps to enable online transactions on your HDFC Bank Credit Card through EVA
- Visit the official website of the bank and go to the HDFC Bank Digital Assistant, EVA tab which will appear on the right side of the page.
- Now click on “Manage My Credit Card” and select any one of the following options Online Usage – International Transactions – Contactless Transactions.
- Now enter your registered 10 digit mobile number and you will receive an OTP.
- Enter the OTP and confirm the last 4 digits of your credit card number.
- Your current status will display as ‘Disabled’ for online/international/contactless transactions which you can enable on the same page.
Steps to Enable Online Transaction on your HDFC Bank Debit Card through Net Banking
- Visit the net banking portal of the bank and enter your Customer ID / User ID and Password.
- Click the “Cards” tab at the top of the page.
- Now click on “Request” on the left side of the page.
- Now click on “Set Card’s Control/Usage Limits” and select your Debit Card from the list.
- You can now view your current daily domestic usage/limits and daily international usage/limits for all transactions.
- Now you can select Online access/ International access/ Contactless access for both the categories.
- Then enable the selected functionality or all of the above and at the bottom of the page, click ‘Continue’.
- Now click on “Continue” on the review page and you will now receive a One-Time Password (OTP) on your registered mobile number.
- Enter the OTP and click on “Continue” to proceed further.
